Factors Affecting the Grinding Performance of Stone-Milled Flour Processing Equipment

Stone-ground flour processing equipment is subject to numerous factors during daily production; therefore, operators must closely monitor the processing conditions at each stage and make timely adjustments as required to ensure the quality of the finished product. Below, we outline the factors that influence the grinding performance of stone-ground flour processing equipment:
1. The grinding rollers must have appropriate surface parameters, be manufactured with precision, and be assembled to a high standard. The surface parameters of the mill rollers are not fixed and should be adjusted appropriately according to the properties of the material, flow rate, grinding requirements, and ambient temperature and humidity.
2. The operating parameters of the stone-ground flour processing equipment’s milling machine must be reasonable and accurate, and the machine must operate reliably.
3. Ensure that the quality, flow rate and particle size of the incoming material are uniform and consistent. Particular attention must be paid to the material entering the grinding system, ensuring that it is ‘homogeneous and combined’.
4. Operations must be conducted with precision, strictly adhering to prescribed requirements and specifications rather than relying on personal experience or habits. The outer milling system must achieve targeted stripping; whilst strictly controlling the stripping rate and flour extraction rate at each stage, the overall stripping rate, flour extraction rate and the integrity of the bran must also be carefully managed. In the heart mill system, the aim is to achieve targeted flour extraction. This involves ensuring that bran particles are not excessively broken down, whilst simultaneously extracting flour of the desired quality and particle size. Practical experience has demonstrated that the quality of flour produced differs significantly between selective milling and extraction versus indiscriminate grinding and extraction.
