The significance of re-rolling stone-ground flour

‘Wire drawing’ is a technical term used in the stone-ground flour milling machinery industry, yet many people are unaware of its actual purpose. Furthermore, why is it necessary to re-draw the wire in stone-ground flour milling machinery? Today, we shall explain the significance of wire drawing in this context.
1) The grinding teeth must be machined to the required flatness, and the cutting edge of the grinding teeth must be given a specific curvature.
2) When grinding the rollers, the grinding machine must not exhibit any vibration or irregular speed fluctuations during operation. The oil pump and gears of the grinding machine must be repaired promptly if worn.
3) The grinding teeth, angles, bevels and number of teeth must comply with the technical specifications.
4) The grinding rollers must be polished before threading. As the grinding rollers are cylindrical, they must not exhibit uneven ends (one end larger than the other). During operation in wheat flour processing equipment, the grinding rollers must not exhibit radial runout; their concentricity and ellipticity must be ensured.
5) The surface of the grinding rollers must be free of unevenness; the teeth must be free of burrs, fractures and central chipping.
6) Ensure that the teeth are properly ground. Grinding must be carried out by a technician with the necessary expertise to ensure that the teeth are ground to a uniform thickness; care must be taken not to tear the teeth, which would cause misalignment or twisting of the wire.
